1. I Have Salt
Uses AI to generate personalized recipes instantly based on user preferences and patterns, offering a more dynamic and adaptive experience compared to browsing static recipe collections.

I love to cook, but I can't stand most recipe websites. They're bloated with ads, full of irrelevant stories about how they were gazing at the stars when this recipe came down from above.
So, I started this as a fun project to get around that constant frustration. I built 🍋 drizzlelemons – a tool that extracts only the recipe from a given URL and formats it beautifully. That's it!
When I built the initial POC a few months ago, it was a hit with close friends and family. I ended up getting a lot of requests for improvements. Since the feedback was so positive, I decided to dedicate my evenings and weekends recently to polishing it up. The main features are:
Strip out ads and stories: Just pop in a recipe URL, and it'll extract the recipe and format it for you.
No more endless scrolling: The formatted recipe always shows the ingredients alongside the method steps, so you never have to scroll back and forth.
Unit conversion: Whether the recipe is in metric or imperial, it will automatically convert and display both.
Dish name search: Simply enter the name of a dish, and it will generate a recipe to the best of its ability.
Recipe adaptation: Want to make something gluten-free, vegan, or adjust servings? Paste in an existing recipe and tell the tool what to change.
Ingredient-based suggestions: Not sure what to cook? Just list the ingredients you have, and DrizzleLemons will suggest a recipe (this is one of my favourite features!).
drizzlelemons does one thing clearly: it serves your favourite recipes simply, with the ads and life stories stripped away. It sits in the Personal Life category and is freemium, so you can try it before deciding whether a paid tier is worth it. For people who just want the ingredients and the steps without scrolling through a blog preamble, that focus is the appeal.
People start looking elsewhere when their needs move past clutter-free reading. Some want to turn a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram video into a written recipe. Others want to cook from the ingredients already in the fridge, get AI-generated recipes, or plan a week of dinners with a shopping list attached. Others simply prefer a tool that is entirely free or one built around meal planning. The seven alternatives below cover those situations, and some overlap with drizzlelemons more closely than others.
We picked tools from the Uneed.best directory that share a broad job-to-be-done with drizzlelemons: getting usable recipes with less friction. The list mixes clutter-free recipe importers, AI recipe generators and meal planners, and covers free, freemium and paid pricing. Uneed lists these products with community votes, which helped surface them. This comparison is based on each product's public description rather than hands-on testing, so check current features and pricing on each site.
Here are the best alternatives to drizzlelemons, ranked by popularity and user engagement.

Honeydew lets you turn photos and screenshots into beautiful, organized recipes and meal plans instantly.
It makes the entire process of finding what to eat, getting the groceries, and reading recipes easy and simplified.
I originally made this for my wife and I as a way to simplify our weekly grocery planning,
which became a source of arguments.
We spent so much time trying to track down social media screenshots of recipes she would collect throughout the week, while I was thumbing through the same cook book for the 10th time.
Now I just import her screenshots and take photos of our cookbooks and the recipes are instantly imported, turned into a grocery list, and a meal plan.
No more fights!
AI Dinner Planner is a meal planning app that helps you decide what to cook without the daily back-and-forth. You tell it your preferences, diet, and allergies, and it generates a weekly dinner plan with recipes that fit your needs.
Once your week is planned, DinnerPlanner.ai builds a shopping list from the recipes so you can buy what you need in one go. When it’s time to cook, Cooking Mode walks you through the recipe step-by-step so you can stay focused in the kitchen.
It’s built for busy people and families who want healthier, easier weeknights—with fewer decisions, fewer missed ingredients, and more dinners that actually match what you can and want to eat.
